As a Clinical Animal Behaviourist, Rachel has worked with hundreds of dogs who struggle with being left home alone. In 2023 even more owners were reaching out for help in this area, so Rachel decided to focus her training on helping more owners to be able to happily be able to leave their dogs home alone.
Please reach us at info@nosetotrail.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Separation Anxiety is a term used to describe dogs who cannot be left home alone. When left without their owner, or a human companion they may: vocalise, destroy things, toilet in the home etc. We typically use the term "Separation Related Behaviour Problem" now rather than "anxiety" as for some dogs the behaviour is not being caused by the dog being anxious or worried, but instead by boredom or frustration. In your initial session we will help you get to the bottom of what is causing your dog's separation problem.
We have a range of services to support dog parents who cannot leave their dogs. These include an instant access webinar you can watch right now here right through to longer more intensive packages where you work with Rachel 121 to overcome your dog's issue with being left home alone.
In separation cases, the dog typically only shows the behaviour when their owner, or dog parent is not there. Therefore there is no benefit to these sessions being done in the home. Instead they are done remotely using technology such as zoom and a dog camera. A dog camera that links to your phone is going to be the best thing you can get to help your dog with this problem!
