Nose To Trail is owned by Rachel Rodgers.
Rachel set up Nose To Trail in March 2020 after leaving Dogs Trust Dog School where she had been Head Coach of Dog School Shropshire & Cheshire as well as the Midlands Area Manager for the past 3 years. Prior to that Rachel had been a lecturer in Canine Behaviour & Training, a Rehoming Centre Manager for the RSPCA and a Dolphin Trainer in the Caribbean!
Nose To Trail’s name comes from the fact that when Rachel takes on clinical behaviour cases (where an animal already has an established problem e.g. separation anxiety) she takes in to account everything about the animal from their Nose to their Tail. This is why all behaviour cases need a vet referral – there may be something going on medically which is causing the behaviour change in your pet.
Instead of using the word Tail in the company name, Rachel opted for Trail as she uses scent work such as pet trailing and man trailing to help the animals she is working with.In May 2020 Rachel was scheduled to undertake her year long Pet Trailer Instructor Course, however due to Covid – 19 this has been postponed. Rachel firmly believes in the importance of the dog training and behaviour industry becoming regulated, and therefore although Nose To Trail hopes to offer pet trailing and man trailing sessions for clients in the future, they won’t be available until Rachel achieves certification in this area. For now, please visit www.pettrailer.co.uk to book your pet trailing sessions, and let them know Nose To Trail sent you!
At present Nose To Trail offers the following services:
- 1 to 1 dog training classes – for key life skills and also fun trick training
- clinical behaviour consults
- enrichment sessions
